Health and Safety · Dogs must be fully vaccinated before they are allowed into the facility. · All dogs must be vaccinated for Rabies, Distemper, Kennel Cough (Bordetella) and screened for worms every 6 months. Canine Influenza vaccine is also recommended. It is your responsibility to ensure that we have a copy of your dogs up to date vaccination records. * If you have a puppy under 6 months old, they need at least 2 rounds of puppy shots (Distemper combo), Bordetella, and a negative stool result to start daycare. Rabies is required once 16 weeks old. · All dogs must be on a heart-worm preventative that also covers other internal parasites that dogs can potentially pass on to each other. We recommend Interceptor Plus. · All dogs must be on a topical flea and tick control program such as Frontline, which is waterproof. Please apply topical at least 24 hours prior to visit. · All dogs must be spayed or neutered by 9 months of age. · All dogs must wear a quick release flat collar with an ID tag. It is unsafe to wear any other type of collar in the daycare environment. Your dog will not be admitted without proper neck wear. (No chains, harnesses, buckle collars) · All dogs must be on a leash in the office and in the parking lot. Dogs can become protective of their parents in the lobby and outside even though they play well in the daycare. · If your pet is ill or misbehaving, you will be contacted to pick them up, if you are not able to pick them up, your dog will be separated until they go home or taken to the vet if it is not safe for them to stay here. · Any dog that exhibits aggressive behavior towards our other clients’ dogs or our staff will not be permitted to play or stay here. · Please do NOT bring your dog to daycare, boarding, grooming, or training if they have any of the following symptoms... - Coughing or Sneezing - Retching (Sounds like something is caught in their throat) - Green or Yellowish discharge from the eyes - Ear infections (Only if excessive sensitivity or soreness) - Puppy warts - Diarrhea - Open wounds - Stitches from surgery or wounds - Spayed or neutered in the last 7 days - Flea or tick infestation - Any signs of ill health Dropping off your dog · 1 st day (trial day) dog must be here at 6:45am · All our regular dogs must be dropped off by 9:00am · All drop offs are curbside. This will help to get your dog acclimated for when he/she stays with us. · Your dog must be dropped off by 9:00am. If your dog is new to our facility we require that you drop off your dog between 6:45-7am so that they can acclimate easier. A full day of playing will ensure that your dog will be ready to go to sleep at the end of the day. You may pick-up your dog whenever you would like during business hours. If you pick up before noon, you will only be charged for your previous nightly boards. If you pick up after noon, a daycare fee ($35) will be added. Your drop off time doesn’t affect your pick up time. Payments and Fees · All payments are due at time of service. Boarding may be paid when picking up. · All veterinarian charges are the sole responsibility of the owner and Paws Dream is to be reimbursed at pick up for any vet bills. If your dog needs to be brought to the vet there will be a $15 transport fee in addition to any other fees. · If your dog needs to be brought to the vet due to another dog while at daycare, both owners will be responsible for settling charges. Paws Dream will not be held responsible for any part of the vet bill. · There is a $30 fee for checks that do not clear. Should Knows · As with humans, dogs can catch colds, viruses, and parasites from each other. Even with proper vaccinations there is still a possibility that they may catch the kennel cough virus, or may catch a parasite from another dog. The Bordetella and Flu vaccines are similar to our Flu vaccine, meaning it helps protect us against catching it, but there are many strains and it can still be contracted even though vaccinated. · Given the nature of dogs’ play behavior, there is a chance that a dog may become injured during his/her stay. Scrapes and cuts are quite common during play due to the dogs tumbling, running, jumping, and rolling on the floor with each other. Dogs play with their mouths and paws, so there is always a chance for scrapes. Aloe vera is effective in aiding the healing process as well as coconut oil. Soap and water is all that should be used to clean cuts. Hydrogen peroxide is used initially but after that it prevents new tissue from forming to heal. We always monitor play and do not allow aggressive playing. If dogs are playing too rough they will be redirected, a time out to calm down and regroup will be given, if needed. There is a chance for a more significant injury since dogs can be unpredictable, Paws Dream will not be responsible for vet bills. · Many dogs are very active at daycare. If their pads or elbows are dry or soft, they may blister or split after a playful day. This can be avoided by using Udder Cream, Bag Balm, or Witch Hazel to toughen up the skin. · Your dog may appear to be overly thirsty as they are leaving. This is an anxiety behavior but be assured that thedogs have open water in every room.
