Meet our Paws Dream family!
Lindsey Malouin* Owner/operator
From childhood, my passion for animals has been profound, sparked by experiences with my beloved pets and encounters with stray, neglected animals. This drove me to volunteer at shelters, like the Animal Rescue League of Southern Rhode Island, where I focused on training and socialization to prepare animals for adoption. My commitment deepened through academic pursuits, studying Animal Veterinary Science and completing a dog training program. I continuously educate myself and advocate for animal welfare, supporting rescue groups like the Great Dane Rescue of New England and Dogs & Cats of Antigua. My advocacy extends globally, reflecting my belief that every animal deserves care and compassion, regardless of borders.
Derek Malouin
Derek has always dreamed of being in a profession that helps people and also animals. Derek joined the US Coast Guard and eventually was stationed on Cape Cod. In 2009 he was honorably discharged as a partially disabled veteran. Derek now helps around the daycare and enjoys spending time with all the daycare doggies at Paws Dream but also has a full time job as an Eastham Fire Fighter/EMT. Derek enjoys doing rescue work and helping animals in need. He has volunteered with IFAW and has aided in numerous dolphin rescues as well as helping with other sea animals. He also finds joy in rescuing dogs and helping find forever homes for them.
Derek and Lindsey have 3 daughters, Elexa, Grace and Ella, as well as all rescued; Ophelia the Great Dane and 3 Antiguan puppies, Coconut, Tallulah and Ginger.
Renata
Renata grew up in Brazil always having many different animals; dogs, cats, rabbits, turtles, guinea pigs, hamsters… She always has been an animal lover and grew up saving stray animals around her house and neighborhood. Renata began working at Paws Dream in 2007 and is our head manager of Paws Dream. Renata makes sure that all of our Paws Dream doggies are happy, healthy, comfortable and well cared for. She currently has 2 dogs of her own, Brax and Lola. On her days off she spends lots of time outdoors with her dogs and son, Daniel.
Dee
Dee is a passionate animal lover and really cares about their well being. She especially loves giving attention and massages to older dogs and dogs that may not be as outgoing as other dogs and gaining their trust. She takes her time and is sure to give every dog a fair chance with coming out of their shell and feeling her love. Dee started working at Paws Dream in 2006. Dee is loved by all of our Paws Dream doggies and is always being showered with kisses! You will always find Dee with a dog on her lap and many huddled and laying by her feet! She currently has a 7 year old rescue from Antigua, Honey. She recently lost her 12.5 year old black lab mix, Tiga, that was rescued from Antigua as a tiny puppy and her Jack Jack at 15, who she saved from going to a shelter at 11 years old. Dee advocates for animal welfare and is a travel buddy for numerous animals flying to their new forever homes.
Becky
Becky has been working at Paws Dream since 2019 and is one of the assistant managers. She will always greet you with a smile at drop off and the doggies love her. Becky has 2 blue healers, 6 year old Blu and puppy Gunner. On her time off Becky enjoys baking and going for hikes with her husband and dogs.
Rafa
Rafa started working at Paws Dream for the winter season only in 2016 but a few years ago started year round with us! All of the dogs love Rafael and so do we! He is so easy going, calm and always is willing to help with anything. Rafa has 2 dogs, Miles a beagle and Nala, a hound mix.
Lexi
Lexi is a junior in high school and helps out on weekends during the school year but works full time during the summer at Paws Dream. Lexi is fabulous with all the dogs. She has grown up with dogs since she was an infant and has a special connection with them. She is currently looking at colleges for Veterinary medicine and then going on to Veterinary School.
Payson
Payson has been working at Paws Dream since summer of 2023, doing weekends during the school year. Payson loves hanging with the smaller dogs and giving them love and pats. Payson is busy as a junior in high school and taking care of her playful boxer at home.
Abby
Abby started working at Paws Dream during the winter of 2023/24. Abby is a freshman in high school and has learned very quickly about all our dogs and is wonderful with them. We are excited to have her as part of our team. Abby has numerous dogs, cats, and reptiles at home! She hopes to work in the vet field when she is older.
Cali
Cali works at Paws Dream during her summer vacations off from college. Last summer, Cali and her family adopted one of our Antiguan foster pups, Macy. Cali is so sweet and the dogs love her calm energy. Cali is studying Biology at URI during the school year but come summertime she loves going to the Cape Cod beaches!
